We Free Trees Impact Market

Where community challenges meet community-rooted solutions.

Our Story

The WFTF Impact Market is a collection of nonprofit initiatives designed to solve real, everyday challenges facing communities in Uganda — not by importing solutions from the outside, but by building them from within.

Each initiative is rooted in the same core belief: that the people closest to a problem are best positioned to solve it, and that lasting change happens when communities have the tools, training, and ownership to meet their own needs.

We focus on basic needs that are too often overlooked hygiene, health, dignity, and economic opportunity and we address them by creating locally made, natural, and sustainable products while simultaneously building women-led workforce pathways. Every purchase, donation, and partnership supports not just a product, but a person, a household, and a community growing stronger from the inside out.

Our Initiatives

We make 100% natural soap locally in Uganda to support healthier hygiene, reduce reliance on mass-produced chemically processed products, and expand access to soap in rural communities where it remains limited, expensive, or difficult for families to consistently afford. Through this work, we create meaningful economic opportunities for women while building community-rooted solutions that are better for the body and the planet.

Our Why

Soap is a basic need, yet in many rural Ugandan communities, it remains limited, expensive, or difficult for families to consistently afford. Much of what is available is mass-produced, chemically processed, and transported long distances from outside the region, increasing costs and making everyday hygiene less accessible for the communities that need it most.

Mutima Soaps For Purpose exists to help change that. ♥️

Our Purpose

Through natural local soap production, we are building a women-led workforce development initiative that supports both community health and economic stability.

We employ and train single mothers and women in need of job opportunities, helping them develop income-generating skills that can support their families, strengthen their communities, and open pathways toward social impact business ownership.

Women receive training in:

  • Soap making

  • Financial literacy

  • Digital literacy

  • Professional development

  • Social impact business development

Our Goal

Our goal is to train and empower 1,000 women by 2030 while increasing consistent access to healthier soap for children, women, and families in rural Ugandan communities.

Through employment, training, community-rooted skill development, and supporting women with the tools to turn a basic need into a pathway for care, dignity, and opportunity Mutima Soaps For Purpose supports:

  • Community health

  • Women’s economic stability

  • Local workforce development

  • Sustainable skill-building

  • Access to basic hygiene needs

  • Community ownership and capacity-building

About Mutima Soaps For Purpose ♥️

About Mutima Pads For Purpose ♥️

We increase access to safe, reusable menstrual products for girls and new mothers in Uganda while advancing women-led workforce development. Through locally made, eco-friendly, washable pad kits, we support menstrual health, reduce reliance on costly + chemically-processed disposable products, and provide a body-conscious, long-term alternative that is better for the body and the planet. We also train and hire women in local communities to make reusable pads, creating income-generating opportunities while building community-rooted solutions rooted in dignity, access, sustainability, and women-led economic opportunity.

Our Why

For many girls who attend boarding school, consistent access to menstrual products is not guaranteed. In rural communities, menstrual products can be costly, limited, or difficult for families to provide regularly — especially for girls away at school and new mothers managing everyday care needs. When access is limited, it can affect more than hygiene. It can impact education, health, confidence, mobility, and daily life. At the same time, many disposable menstrual products are made with synthetic materials, chemical additives, plastics, and fragrances that can be uncomfortable and further impact women’s health while also contributing to long-term environmental waste.

Mutima Pads For Purpose exists to provide a healthier, reusable, and community-rooted alternative that supports menstrual dignity, reduces reliance on costly disposable products, and expands access to care that is better for the body and the planet. ♥️🌍

Our Purpose

We expand access to safe, reusable menstrual pads by making eco-friendly, washable pad kits available locally while training and hiring women in local communities to produce them. Through this women-led workforce development model, access grows from within the community while creating job opportunities, income-generating skills, and pathways toward economic ownership + stability for women.

Our reusable pads are designed to be:

  • Eco-friendly and washable

  • Soft and gentle

  • Leak-proof and absorbent

  • Made with body-conscious materials

  • A long-term cost-saving alternative

Our Goal

Our goal is to train and empower 1,000 women by 2030 while increasing consistent access to safe, reusable menstrual pads for girls and new mothers.

Through local production, training, and community-based partnerships, Mutima Pads For Purpose supports:

  • Menstrual health and dignity

  • Girls’ confidence and school participation

  • New mothers’ access to safe hygiene products

  • Women-led economic opportunity

  • Local workforce development

  • Waste reduction and environmental care

  • Community-rooted capacity-building
